Elena Hadjipieri is art teacher, art gallery pedagogue and artist. She teaches art in primary
schools in Cyprus where she focuses on the human figure and portraiture among other subjects. She conducted field trips with her students to study monuments and Byzantine churches located near the school she worked at. Her most recent fieldtrip was developed to the Panayia of Asinou chapel, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Each field trip was followed by art projects (at school) related to the monument. She has developed educational programs for galleries in Cyprus on behalf of the local Ministry of Education and Culture. She is currently developing family packages/guides for the Byzantine Museum and the Romantic Gallery of Archbishop the 3rd Foundation as part of the activities of the Ministry and Culture. Hadjipieri's art concentrates on the human figure and portraiture using mainly oils while she experiments in mixed and digital media. She has participated in several group exhibitions. Her interests involve visual culture, aesthetics, tradition, ecology, museology as well as the promotion of children’s aesthetic engagement with art.
