Hester Elzerman is working as a researcher, teacher and curator at Welcome Stranger foundation for art, research and education projects based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She studied Art History and Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam. After working as a teacher she started a research on meaning making by children in the reception of art. Currently she combines this research on reception of art by children with art history, theory and philosophy and neuro cognitive science in her PhD research, to gain insights that apply to the practice of art education.
