Catarina Almeida (b. 1985) is a teacher of Arts Education and Artistic Research at the Fine Arts Faculty of University of Porto. She graduated in Fine Arts in 2008 and obtained a Master Degree in Teaching Visual Arts in 2012. While working on her doctoral research she was a visiting researcher in University of the Arts Helsinki and in Royal Academy of Art The Hague, eventually finished and defended in 2015 with the title "After Artistic Research – What follows the establishment and the realization of the establishment of the phenomenon". Since 2011 that Catarina Almeida is also a researcher in the Research Institute in Art, Design and Society (i2ADS), within which she leads the Research Group in Art Education (since 2016).
