A sound workshop carried out by the artist Juan Cantizzani and Mariam Caballero (Collective Weekend Proms), together with the students of the C.E.I.P. Ruiz Jiménez de Jaén.

The workshop developed at the Ruiz Jiménez de Jaén School, based on the project "Education and active listening" (https://eduescuchactiva.net), an initiative that aims to activate working mechanisms that facilitate the opening of debate processes and synergies to re-formulate listening as a knowledge engine and the classroom as a production space, considering sound as a plastic and communication element, of an expressive nature and aesthetic value. Active listening and education as a social observatory, as a critical practice, instrument of social reaction or as a transformation mechanism that activates possible future strategies. Active listening and education as part of the processes of social transformation, generator of spaces for creation and openness to new forms of subjectivity production.

During the workshop, various techniques and practices put in place by some of the artists and agents collaborating with the project such as Maria Andueza, Alex Mendizabal or Chinowski Garachana were used, highlighting a series of outstanding aspects of the sound cultures, enabling the educational field, spaces of approach to this field of study, with the conviction that the improvement of the formative / educational processes and their relation with the cultural sphere generate human wealth and social wealth.

Se trata del resultado del taller sonoro llevado a cabo por el artista Juan Cantizzani y Mariam Caballero (Colectivo Weekend Proms), junto con el alumnado del C.E.I.P. Ruiz Jiménez de Jaén.

El taller desarrollado en el Colegio Ruiz Jiménez de Jaén, giró en base al proyecto “Educación y escucha activa” (https://eduescuchactiva.net), una iniciativa que pretende activar mecanismos de trabajo que faciliten la apertura de procesos de debate y sinergias para re-formular la escucha como motor de conocimiento y el aula como espacio de producción, considerando el sonido como elemento plástico y de comunicación, de naturaleza expresiva y valor estético. Escucha activa y educación como observatorio social, como práctica crítica, instrumento de reacción social o como mecanismo de transformación que active posibles estrategias de futuro. Escucha activa y educación como parte de los procesos de transformación social, generador de espacios para la creación y apertura a nuevas formas de producción de subjetividad.

Durante el taller realizado, se emplearon diversas técnicas y prácticas puestas en marcha por algunos de los artistas y agentes colaboradores con el proyecto como Maria Andueza, Alex Mendizabal o Chinowski Garachana, poniendo de relieve una serie de aspectos destacados de las culturas sonoras, habilitando desde el ámbito educativo, espacios de aproximación a este campo de estudio, con la convicción de que la mejora de los procesos formativo/educativos y su relación con la esfera cultural generan riqueza humana y riqueza social.
